Board of Directors

The Board is responsible for governance, setting policies and standards, financial oversight, accountability, strategic planning, community relations, and upholding the mission, vision and value statements of the corporation.

Our board is comprised of various community members selected during the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Prior to the AGM, each candidate expresses his or her interest in becoming a member of the Board of Directors in writing. Once their interest is expressed, each candidate must submit a biography and complete an interview. At the AGM each candidate is introduced and the current board members vote through a show of hands. Membership is voluntary.

The Board meets monthly and a board member must sit on one or more of the following committees: Community Outreach, Public Policy and Best Practices, Research and Education, Communications and Fundraising.
