Vote Ontario 2011
On October 6, 2011 Ontarians will choose the next provincial government. Today, Ontario's health care system is at a tipping point. With an aging population and increasing diverse population, escalating chronic disease rates (diabetes, obesity, hypertension, dementia) health care costs curretnly consumes 46 cents of every Ontario tax dollar. That leaves 54 cents to address challenges in education, labour, infrastructure, transportation, children and youth services, social and community services and serveral other critical institutions and services.
Excellence in Health Care for ALL Ontarians.
Together, with the Ontario Government, Ontarians face the unique challenge and opportunity of enhancing our health care system, improving it, and making it better for the future.
The Black Health Alliance is working with its members to offer solutions to our health care challenges. Our recommendations are being compiled in a report entitled, "Excellence in Health Care for ALL Ontarians". If you and/or your organization would like to find out more or get involved in the process please contact us at info@blackhealthalliance.ca. The next Vote Ontario 2011 meeting will take place on Wednesday June 22, 2011. We are also encouraging community members to engage in the provincial election process, become informed and have your concerns heard.
